Peaceful Parenting, Peaceful Kids

"Both peace and stress are contagious emotions. For parents to steer the behavior of their

children in the desireable direction, peaceful parenting is a win-win." - Dr. Julie Hartman

"I love your whole way of explaining things. I really get it with all of your examples, like I can see myself talking to my kids the way you do. Thank you!"

- Joanne, Woodacre

"Things have been more peaceful at home after implementing the tools you taught us. I've taken parenting classes before, yours is the best... the way you explain things and the exercises left me feeling more prepared to implement at home than in other courses I've taken. I'll be coming back for more.

- Claire, San Anselmo

"3 things:

1. I like the listening exercise. I hadn't been taught that before and it makes sense.

2. I like how you explain about attachment and how to be an effective Alpha with my kids.

3. Simple and clear."

-Karen, Novato

There is so much to learn as a parent. I like learning from Dr. Hartman because she's not judgmental, she's realistic and she doesn't overload you with too much to learn at once.

- Anonymous, San Rafael

Thanks, Dr. Hartman. I have to admit, my wife kind of had to push me to come and I'm glad she did. Great info and we'll be back.

- Jim, San Francisco

"Our son has ADHD and our daughter has anxiety. We're education junkies as you can imagine, so glad to know about you. You're on our list now for sure. Thanks.

-Kevin, Mill Valley

"Just the right amount of information. I think this will help at home. Would like more specifics for boys though. I'll definitley come back if you do a class on raising sons"

- Anonymous, Kentfield

"It's always been a dream of mine to have a peaceful home for my kids. I didn't have one growing up, so I was inspired to take this class. It didn't disappoint! Thanks for helping me achieve the dream."

- Megan, Novato

Parents are used to 'deaf ears' in their kids/teens. You know, when you've asked them once, then again, then a third time using a louder voice and they seemingly haven't 'heard' you. Synthesizing teachings from several specialists and adding her own 'twist', Dr. Julie Hartman teaches parents how to listen with more ease and gentlessness, cultivating a peaceful transmission of connection that in turn allows the child to better hear the parent's leadership. This brief class is part presentation style and part exercises. Parents will experience and be poised to receive attachment-based listening tips with peaceful presence.

Research is demonstrating that the digital world just might be both a blessing and a curse. Parents already have the enormous task of helping kids/teens learn to be healthy in the 'real world'... it's now also up to parents to ensure that everyone is healthy inside the digital world too. Dr. Hartman briefly reviews several research findings, then teaches specific, pracital peace-generating tools for parents to use that promote digital wisdom for all family members. This brief class is part presentation style and part exercises. Parents will experience and be poised to receive attachment-based digital wisdom tips with peaceful presence.

Power struggles and peace usually are 2 things that don't go together. However, Dr. Hartman teaches a recipe for cultivating inner peace in the parent as a way to infuse peace into the power struggle. Like 'draino' does for a clogged sink, Dr. Hartman teaches the way to literally dissolve the extra stress that gets parents and kids stuck when their agendas are in opposition. This brief class is part presentation style and part exercises. Parents will experience and be poised to receive attachment-based tips with peaceful presence.

School's almost here! Some anxiety and stress comeswith the territory of going to school, but many students are at risk of debilitating levels of anxiety and stress. Whether triggered by social, test-taking, grades, homework load or attantion issues, school anxiety/stress complicates parenting and child development. Peaceful parenting, with a clear dose of child anxiety reducation tools, can leverage a strong, even peaceful, start to school. This timely class is part presentation style and part exercises. Parents will experience and be poised to receive attachment-based tips with peaceful presence.

Peaceful transitions are most possible when parents know how to create a 'bridge'. Children become so attached to the present moment. As a result, kids need peaceful parenting support in order to successfully transition (and learn how to transition) between all of the expected tasks to accomplish each day and across time. This essential class is part presentation style and part exercises. Parents will experience and be poised to receive attachment-based tips with peaceful presence.

Class 6: Peaceful Parenting, Peaceful Kids:
Peaceful Feelings in a Stressful World

'Emotional Intelligence (EQ)' is quite possibly one of the most important skills for creating successful conditions as adults, informing decision-making, problem-solving, relationships, etc. Properly developing healthy EQ in our children (i.e. how to appropriately recognize, express, regulate feelings) is an essential peaceful parenting skill. This class is part presentation style and part exercises. Parents will experience and be poised to receive attachment-based tips with peaceful presence.
