Child Services

When there is a persistent question or concern about the child's happiness or behavior that needs further understanding, therapy should be considered.

In many cases, a child is referred to me for my particular techniques, style, or emphasis areas:

  • individual therapy with children as young as 8 years
  • free-form and structured play/art/sand therapy
  • specialty with girls (although I also help boys)
  • cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques
  • specialty with parent-child therapy

Common issues I help are anxiety, phobias, OCD, depression, divorce, family stress, obedience/defiance, ADD, and adjustment.

Several times a year, I conduct group therapy with a focus on friendship skills, body image, self-esteem, assertiveness skills, and additional developmental areas.

Sometimes, parent-child psychotherapy or parent consultation is a useful way to improve a child's problems and facilitating healthy child development. Common themes are family harmony, good habits, rewards/consequences, motivation, and rules.
